Do I need to change my browser's settings?
You will need to ensure that cookies are enabled (they are by default), and that you are not using any software that blocks advertisements such as Norton Internet Security.
Do we have to be a large organisation to use Groupraiser?
Groupraiser can be used by charities and organisations of all sizes.
Do we have to be a registered charity to use Groupraiser?
No, any group or individual can use Groupraiser to help raise funds for a cause.
Do we need a website?
No, you do not require a website to make use of Groupraiser. We provide you with your own shopping website.
Of course, if you do have a website, then you can use it to link to your Groupraiser shopping site. You can also add a link from your Groupraiser site to your website.
How and when do we get paid?
At the end of every month, when you have a confirmed balance of £50 or more, Groupraiser will send your organisation a cheque for the total confirmed amount.
How can we promote our Groupraiser page?
Ideas for promotion can be found by visiting the administration panel for your group, and clicking on the promotions link.
How does it work?
We provide your group with a Groupraiser shopping website that has special links to a number of high street stores and online retailers.
When you or one of your supporters makes a purchase from a retailer after clicking on one of these links, the retailer will pay a commission from their marketing budget to Groupraiser. Groupraiser will then process, collect and aggregate the commission from these sales, and distribute the money to your group.
To fund the administration costs of running these websites, Groupraiser also receives a small portion of the commission given by the retailers.
How does the retailer know which organisation to pay?
All the links to the retailers contain special tracking text that tells the retailer which group the purchase was made from. Groupraiser then receives a list of all purchases made by that group and credits their balance accordingly.
How long does it take for a sale to be reported?
The amount of time it takes for a sale to be reported varies from retailer to retailer. Some can be reported in as soon as 24 hours, whilst others take up to 60 days. Typically it takes around 30 days.
How long does it take to set up and run?
Your Groupraiser shopping site can typically be setup in less than five minutes, then all you have to do is promote it. Obviously, the more time you spend promoting it, the more money you are likely to make.
How much could we earn?
The amount of money raised from your Groupraiser website depends upon the number of people that are using it. Thus, the more you promote it, the more you could earn.
Typically a retailer pays around 4% of the purchase price for every sale, but this varies from retailer to retailer. For example, if a supporter made a purchase of £30 at Littlewoods, Littlewoods would contribute around £1.20 to your group.
Some retailers such as Sky, pay a fixed amount for every sale. For example, when a supporter signs up for Sky Digital through your Groupraiser website, Sky would contribute around £33 to your group.
We even provide a section where your supporters can raise money for your group without spending a penny. If a supporter completed all of the offers available in this section, they would raise around £100 for your group with very little effort. Imagine if you had 50 supporters who did this for your group!
How much does it cost?
Groupraiser is free for organisations and the supporters that use it. Supporters do not pay any more money for items that they purchase than they would without using Groupraiser. In fact, they could even save money!
What do we get?
Your group will receive your own Groupraiser shopping website, reports on how much money has been raised, tools to help you promote your Groupraiser website and of course, the money that Groupraiser helps you raise.
What do we have to do?
Registering your group is quick, free and easy. All you have to do is promote your Groupraiser website. We even provide tools to help you do this.
What is Groupraiser?
Groupraiser is a website where supporters of a charity or organisation can help raise money for a cause by shopping online at their favourite online retailers.
Where does the money come from?
The money comes from the profit margins of the retailers partnered with Groupraiser.
When a sale is made through Groupraiser, a commission is paid out of the retailer's marketing budget.
Why hasn't a sale been reported in my reports?
It can take up to 60 days for a retailer to report a sale to us. If it has been longer than 60 days, then please contact us and we will contact the retailer to investigate.
Why isn't a certain retailer listed on your site?
Whilst we have attempted to partner with many of the major online retailers and service providers, there may be some that we are not aware of or are unable to partner with for technical reasons. However, please feel free to contact us to suggest a retailer to add.
